COFI

   Short for cost of funds index. A yield index based upon the cost of funds to savings and loan institutions in the San Francisco Federal Home Loan Bank District.

Index
A measurement used by lenders to determine changes to the Interest rate charged on an adjustable rate mortgage.

Yield
The interest earned by an investor on his investment (or bank on the money it has lent).

Loan
A sum of borrowed money (principal) that is generally repaid with interest.

Bank
An institution that acts as a financial intermediary by receiving money from depositors and lenders and also lending to borrowers.

Co-insurance
Coverage that involves the use of two or more insurers.

Co-insurance clause
A clause in insurance policies covering real property that requires the policyholder to maintain fire insurance coverage generally equal to at least 80 percent of the property's actual replacement cost.

Co-investment
Co-investment occurs when two or more pension funds or groups of funds share ownership of a real estate investment.
