Consent judgment

   A judge's legally binding approval of a written agreement by the parties of a lawsuit.

Consent
The consent is an agreement. Voluntary acceptance of the wish of another. Example: consent of a co-owner to rent a property to someone.

Conservator
A guardian, protector, preserver or receiver appointed by a court to administer the person and property of another (usually an incapable adult) and to ensure that the property will be properly managed.

Consideration
Anything of value given to induce someone into entering into a contract.

Actions of a landlord that so materially disturb or impair a tenant's enjoyment of the leased premises that the tenant is effectively forced to move out and terminate the lease without liability for any further rent.

Constructive fraud
Breach of a legal or equitable duty that the law declares fraudulent because of its tendency to deceive others, despite no showing of dishonesty or intent to deceive.

Notice given to the world by recorded documents.

Constructive receipt
Control of the cash proceeds in a delayed exchange without actual physical possession by the exchanger or his or her agent.

The Consumer Credit Protection Act, passed in 1968, for the first time spelled out basic consumer protections, including Truth in Lending disclosures.

Consumer debts
Debts incurred for personal, as opposed to business, needs.

Consumer price index (CPI)
Measures inflation in relation to the change in the price of goods and services purchased by a specified population during a base period of time.
