General contractor

   The prime contractor who contracts for the construction of an entire building or project, rather than just a portion of the work.

In the construction industry, a contractor is one who contracts to erect buildings or portions of them.

One authorized by a principal to perform any and all acts associated with the continued operation of a particular job or a certain business of the principal.
