Inspection

   An examination of a property by the buyer, agent, title insurance company, or other interested party.

Property
The rights of ownership. The right to use, possess, enjoy, and dispose of a thing in every legal way and to exclude everyone else from interfering with these rights.

Agent
Person authorized to act on behalf of another in dealings with third parties.

Title
1) The rights of ownership and possession of particular property. 2) In real estate usage, title may refer to the instruments or documents by which a right of ownership is established (title documents), or it may refer to the ownership interest one has in the real estate.

Insurance
Protection against a specific loss over a period of time that is secured by the payment of a regularly scheduled premium.

Inspection report
The documentation of a thorough examination of a house's visible structural parts and systems, conducted before purchase.

Installment contract
A contract for the sale of real estate whereby the purchase price is paid in periodic installments by the purchaser, who is in possession of the property even though title is retained by the seller until a future date, which may not be until final payment.

Installment note
A promissory note with payments of principal and interest made at designated intervals.

Installment Sale
A tax term used to describe a sale which is usually accomplished by use of a land contract.

A national organization concerned with professional management of real estate. The professional designation conferred by IREM is ARM, Accredited Resident Manager.
