Regulation Z

   Implements the Truth-in-Lending Act requiring credit institutions to inform borrowers of the true cost of obtaining credit.

Regional bank
A bank with a primary market in a regional or metropolitan area but takes deposits from throughout the state in which it is located.

Regional diversification
Definitions for what constitute various regions, for diversification purposes, vary among managers, consultants and plan sponsors.

Registration
Notifying the owner that you have shown the property to a prospect in order to establish your claim to a commission.

Registration statement
Forms filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (or the appropriate state regulatory agency) in connection with a proposed offering of new securities or the listing of outstanding securities on a national exchange

Regression
An appraisal principle that states that between dissimilar properties the value of the better-quality property is affected adversely by the presence of the lesser-quality property.

Rehab
Extensive renovation intended to cure obsolescence of a building or project.

Rehabilitation mortgage
A mortgage that covers the costs of rehabilitating (repairing or Improving) a property.

Reinstatement
To bring something back to its prior position, as in restoring a defaulted loan to current status.

Reissue rate
A charge for a title insurance policy if a previous policy on the same property was issued within a specified period of time.

REIT (Real Estate Investment Trusts)
A business trust or corporation that combines the capital of many investors to acquire or provide financing for real estate.
