  Subdivision



Subdivision

   A housing development that is created by dividing a tract of land into individual lots for sale or lease.

Land
The earth's surface, extending downward to the center of the earth and upward infinitely into space, including things permanently attached by nature, such as trees and water.

Lease
A contract whereby the landlord grants the tenant the right to occupy defined space for a set period at a specific price (i.e., rent).

A disclosure law enacted to protect buyers of subdivided parcels. A public report is required for subdivisions of five or more parcels.

Subdivider

Municipal ordinances that establish requirements for subdivisions and development.

Subdivision Map Act
